Geology and history of mining along the fault

With over 700 years of known mining heritage, the Silvermines mining district in County Tipperary layers the ruins of a gravely altered mining landscape above the ancient Silvermines geologic fault.

This beautifully illustrated collection of essays includes papers on the geology and history of mining along the fault, on the legacy of Irish place names, on the workers who toiled at the mines, on housing Mogul’s Canadian workers in the mid-1960s and on the extensive heritage conservation work undertaken to preserve the surviving mining buildings.
